Marcus Hodge Commission

A single picture commission for a recently renovated farmhouse by Leonora Birts Interior Design. The client who had an interest in the Himalayas, commissioned Marcus Hodge to paint an abstracted representation of the colourful prayer flags in flight as seen at the monasteries in that area. Winding up into the hills above McCleod Ganj, the landscape and forrests are liberally strewn with colourful prayer flags in various states of decay. The faded, delicate flags against the imposing structure of the mountains, seem to symbolise both the hope and fragility of human endeavours.
