THE ART MARKET: BOOMING OR JUST BANANAS?

When I first stepped into the art world 30 years ago, I was a very green auctioneer at Phillips and then Sotheby’s but one thing hasn’t changed in all that time: the headlines about art prices. Every week, it seems, another eye-watering sale grabs the spotlight, leaving us to believe that with a little luck, the art market could be our golden ticket.
