Sarah Percy-Davis started her career in the art market in 1994, beginning in the auction rooms as a specialist in the Picture department of Phillips Son & Neale, where she rose to become one of Phillip’s youngest auctioneers. In 1998 she moved to Sotheby’s, to jointly head the department responsible for general sales of Victorian and 19th century Continental pictures on New Bond Street.
After a four-year period in the film industry, where Sarah became a producer of Science and History documentaries commissioned by Discovery Channel, she returned to the art world, this time representing the interests of dealers.
In 2004, she took up the post of Chief Executive of LAPADA, The Association of Art & Antiques Dealers, the largest trade organisation of professional dealers in the UK, a post which she held for 10 years.
As former Treasurer of the British Art Market Federation, a body that represents the major trade organisations and auction houses, she gained valuable experience in lobbying government on behalf of the art market.
From 2014, Sarah held the post of Chairman of Asian Art in London, an event that brings together over sixty of the world’s top dealers, auction houses and museums.
Sarah is a governor of the British Institute of Florence, a vibrant bi-cultural institution offering a wide range of educational and cultural programmes and she is a patron of Modern Art Oxford, a leading UK contemporary art space.
